According to the Medical Council of India (MCI) there are two basic eligibility criteria to take admission in any foreign Medical University.
Minimum age 17 years by the end of the year (31st Dec)
Passed 10+2 or equivalent or higher qualification with min 50% to 60% in Physics, Chemistry and Biology depending on the university
Education in Medicine in Europe is economical as the tuition fees are generally lower compared to USA and UK, as is the cost of living.
Some universities have a partnership program, wherein the student can choose to study in the partner universities usually based in USA, UK or Australia for the final 2 years.
The undergraduate program usually runs between 5 to 6 years, post which the student can apply for the
licensing exam in the country that he / she wishes to practise medicine. In India the student would appear for the screening test conducted twice a year by the Medical Council of India, the PLAB in UK, USMLE in USA and the Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination in Canada.
